If you prefer a single purchase instead of a monthly subscription, get the Universalis app instead of the Catholic Calendar app.

Pros and cons of Catholic Calendar app for iPhone and iPad

Catholic Calendar app good for

Living in a major catholic country, I missed some Brazilian local celebrations Otherwise, a very good app
It is well done. It could have also included the pre-Vatican Council II Roman Calendar of Saints. But overall, this app is a great idea.
I didnt expect this to be so complete. Works well but Ill probably buy the paid version just so I dont need to rely on an internet connection. Bravo!
Does what what it says very well. You dont need internet connection for this. God bless!!
Unless you consider the paid version - I bought it and havent regreted it.
Exactly what I have been looking for. We need more catholic apps like this.

Some bad moments

The Mass readings do not match my Daily Missal for some reason. Very strange but all else is very nice.
Font is so small it makes me dizzy and calendar doesnt make sense.
The RC Calendar may be OK for finding out what feast day is is but the synopsis I read today was the last straw. Poor or trite phrases for SAINTS abound; People who we are to look up to and I get and I quote, "After nine years in the convent she dies and that was that."! see Oct 1 feast of the Little Flower. In context I dont know if it was the Saint who died or the superior mentioned in the previous sentence! I happen to know from another source the Saint Therese died after nine years in the Carmel not the superior. I am removing this from I phone and finding a better one with better writing about the Saints. Im no Yeats or Shelley but I know poor and careless writing when I see it (and when I produce it) and this Stuff is TERRIBLE!
I appreciate the ability to change the text to a font and size so that I do not have to have reading glasses. This app was well done.
Works wonderfully and now I do not have to carry a heavy book around and spend time flipping around in the book. Being a permanent deacon this allows me to do the liturgy of the hours at work with ease.
Great app, but pls consider getting the holy days to sync w iCal & link back to your app.
